About us

Pearl and Earl is the creation of award winning designer Jacqui Pearce.  She designs and illustrates the product range from her studio in historic Arundel, West Sussex..  and her creative ventures are filled with her signature style of Nostalgic Chic...

If you are a fan of colour, pattern, nostalgia, enjoy old school adventures, like a bit of geek chic, are crafty at heart, or a baker or maker, and love a ‘good do’ and a belly laugh or too,  then we think you will like what we are about.

So what’s our story?

Formally part of the fashion world – Jacqui left her day job to go freelance in 2004 and on the side produced the first of her creative adventures – a collection of old school knitwear ‘Granny Knits’, which went into Selfridges London. This was closely followed by a range of art and home products, which were sold from her design studio. In 2007 the collection was relaunched as Pearl and Earl  and her crafty side was rebranded JACQUI P.

We pioneered retro paper party chic in 2010 and since then we have supplied films, tv, brand campaigns, weddings and events with our paper decoration styling.  Clients have included The BBC, TV Shows: The Midwives, Films: TInker Tailor Soldier Spy, Celebrity Weddings: Peaches Geldof, and even Buckingham Palace.  A crafty girl at heart, Jacqui regularly collaborates with like minded folk on different things.. like her projects with Dame Jacqueline Wilson and a commission for the Royal Wedding in 2011.   Jacqui also regularly contributes to editorial as well as writing a monthly column on trends in crafts.  Her first book Supersize Stitches is being published worldwide in 2012, followed by 2 more in 2013.

In 2010 Jacqui was joined by her husband on her colourful adventure – and whilst we have been lucky enough to win lots of awards for our businesses – they are still very much small family concerns.  In 2012 we finally ‘left home’ and moved into the cutest old Game Lodge on the Historic Arundel Castle Estate.. right on top of the South Downs.

and so here we are.. Jacqui (Pearl) gets creative, is the business bod and makes, bakes and blogs about her adventures .. and Mr H (Earl) is right at the coal face of the online and trade business, guest blogs from a blokes point of view, and is passionate about the great outdoors.
