To continue our Snowy weather theme… we thought it apt to share something one of our lovely customers, Wedding Planner Aimee Dunne sent to us. Her Snowy themed dessert table was featured on Party Guru Amy Atlas’s blog,.. and included in her styling were our Paper Snowflakes and Paper Straws. Brilliant achievement for Aimee (and we were chuffed by the link too) and we love how she has styled up our products into her snowy theme… thank you x

Happy New Year! We are back in the office today, after our annual Christmas break … and boy did we need it! You will note from our absent posting that we were all a little overloaded at Pearl and Earl HQ this Christmas. After some fantastic press in all the hot lifestyle magazines we were inundated with orders for our style of paper bling over Christmas. We were even the Living etc Editors choice in the January Edition of the magazine (out Dec 2012) and a big thank you to all the press teams who featured us and help make 2012 a monster year for our homespun brand..
It culminated with the team from Jools Hollands Hootenanny asking us to decorate their set for Emeli Sande and the entrance / back of house… and what a vintage year with vintage tunes from my youth (Dexys, Adam Ant…) as well as some faves from 2012.
We hope 2013 is a good one for all of you… and a big thank you to all the readers and customers who made 2012 our breakthrough year. We have big plans for 2013 including the launch of my second book… watch this space x
Little mash up of my crafty contributions to Cross Stitcher Magazines as a Christmas Series of Works in 2012
Cross stitch Christmas gift ideas in Jacqui Pearce’s retro style! | Cross Stitcher.
In Easy Livings Christmas issue – they chose to use some of our Block Bottom Candy Stripe Party Bags to create an alternative DIY advent calendar. Which we think looks rather chic!
Prima Magazine’s Christmas edition this month featured a colourful Homespun piece styled by Selina Lake . She mixed our paper balls with paper straws and lots of other colourful delicious pieces to create a whimsical display that also used a bike with fairy lights…
She even managed to get one of my new Christmas Cross Stitch Stockings stitched up from my Jacqui P collection which looked fab!
We are so thrilled that the press are using lots of our products and giving us plenty of inspiration for Christmas – Pearl and Earl style!
Feeling festive yet? Well in this months 25 Beautiful Homes – they feature our Christmas Decoration Pack and individual White Christmas Items, like our Snowflakes and Bells which are already being snapped up! (Yikes!)
This month the lovely folk at Sew Magazine did a 3 page feature on Supersize Stitches .. and even snuck a picture from the book on the cover (see my Supersize Russian Doll admiring herself!). Cheers folks – glad you liked it. If you buy the mag they are also running a special offer inside, and it comes with the cutest peg doll project on the cover. Happy Stitching x
The Crafty Delightful Perri Lewis was kind enough to post kind words about SUPERSIZE STITCHES on her blog … and she has her own Crafty Title MATERIAL WORLD out in November which yours truly contributed to – along with lots of other experts. Crafty Bookshelf Essential we feel – cant wait to see it.
Sneaky peek of my design in next months Cross Stitcher – the second in my series of 3 Supersize Stitch gift projects for Christmas. This is a Kisses make up bag – featuring one of my infinity stitching patterns, named because they can be repeated and repeated to fill a fabric until your hearts content.
Happy Stitching x
Cross Stitcher 257 landed on my desk this weekend.. and my trend column this month is all about Wooly Stitches. Whilst cross stitch and needlepoint crafts are as old as the hills, traditional tapestry and crewel threads getting make overs by chic stitchers all over the place. There are lots of new books like Jane Brockett’s Gentle Art of Stitching and of course my Supersize Stitches. I also noticed Cath Kidston has reprinted her paperback STITCH book with the wooly stitched tapestry on the cover, instead of her more traditional looking cotton cross stitch. Then there are all the contemporary needlepoint kits out there like those from Felicity Hall (who did a fab Scandi Horse in this issue) and a new collaboration by American Anna Maria Horner and Coats. All exciting stuff for those of us who prefer a wooly stitch, and its good to see lots of cross stitch lovers moving to try the wooly side of the fence.
So for my design project in this issue – I have released the next in my set of ‘cross over stitch crafts’ – after the success of my ‘Crochet Look’ cross stitch Granny Square, I have created an extended collection of Crochet and Knit look patterns. Including this ‘Knitted’ Stitched Stocking in the mag.
Jacqui P (my stitching label) is having a bit of a make over in the next few weeks, and all the new kits / patterns will be available on Pearl and Earl as well as the Jacqui P site. We needed to have a revamp after feedback from customers, and also problems we have been having with components. It is taking a lot of time behind the scenes, but think it will be worth it in the end. It is just taking a lot longer to complete than anticipated.
Happy Stitching x
Have you seen the latest advert from Actimel? There’s us thinking it is a healthy fruity yoghurt drink, but according to the ad it is packed with paper honeycomb paper, festooned letters, supersize party decorations, lanterns and a cow!
Random? Yes. Love it? Of course we do! We sell the big paper strawberries (and lots of other fruit too) .. and it seems lots of folk are getting as paper decoration obsessed as we are.
Just for the record, we do not currently stock cows (just in case you were wondering)
A while ago we were contacted by the stylist Danielle Nay looking for some of our Paper Party Style for Peaches Geldof’s wedding. The Wedding was super hush hush – and we were asked not to mention the wedding or venue until after the big day… so it was all a little bit cloak and dagger at Pearl and Earl HQ
Yesterday Peaches and her beau Thomas Cohen were married in the same church in Davington, Kent where her parents marriage was blessed, which was also where her mother’s (Paula Yates) funeral took place.
Apparently Hello will be covering it – so our Paper Party Decorations and Straws may well have their own moment of rock n roll fame!
Best wishes for the newly weds from us all …

Over the next 3 months I have created 3 special Christmas Projects for Cross Stitcher Magazine. One of my latest design obsessions has been trying to blend crafts – taking one craft and seeking inspiration from another. It all started with my GRANNY SQUARE project – which I did a variation of for my book. Making Granny Afghan Crochet Squares from wooly cross stitch….
and so began my obsession …
Over the past 18 months, I have created lots of new stitch look patterns which are being launched later this year on my dedicated JACQUI P site. Using one of these as a base I designed this Christmas stocking – which is made to look as if it is made from giant knitted stitches…. finished off with some colourful pom poms! Think Santa will like this one..
It will be in issue 258 out next month
This months Kitchens Bedrooms and Bathrooms magazine features a lovely pastel shoot styled by Sally Cullen .. we love the simplistic charm of her styling, and of course our DECORATIONS and BALLOONS adding the final touches.. scrumptious
This weeks issue 257 of Cross Stitcher Magazine has a project preview of my new book SUPERSIZE STITCHES.. and the team chose to publish the Supersize Granny Square – cross stitched onto canvas.
Its a great introduction to the book – and there is a special readers offer too… so why not take a peek?
Charlie (the Editor) has also made her first venture into film! With Cross Stitchers first you tube promotional video – which features some kind words about yours truly..
Happy Stitching x
Now normally we write about things that Pearl and Earl Loves… but today we got a little love back as a friend pointed us to this great site SELL MY WEDDING who featured us on their blog.
The idea behind the site is perfect for these austere times… as it is a marketplace for Brides to sell their preloved items to Soon-to-be-Brides for their own day.
Why not have a look?
This month we were tickled pink (!sorry) to be featured in a multi page PINK spread for Brides Magazine.
The clever stylists used our balls and decorations for garland backdrops, ball / pom pom room combos and our paper straws for pretty drinks.
We also made it into a RAINBOW “We Heart Design” special with our Rainbow Paper Decorations – so thank you to the team for the perfect pastel styling and thinking of us at Pearl and Earl x
