But perhaps the biggest influence in styling trends at this moment in time is the onslaught of metallics ..  due in part to the visual splendor of the Great Gatsby.  Grey decorations mixed in make a little metallic goes a long way – and perhaps a little less overtly bling!

Oh and if you thought this was an S&M look based on the best selling book – then sorry to disappoint!  But you can always mix your greys with red room and throw in a few of our feathered masks for good measure.! ..  anything goes x

Another bank holiday is looming and we only hope that some of the sparkle from the early May holiday returns.  As I write someone has turned the lights off and there is a deluge outside… but ever the optimist I am hoping for one of those British miracles!
Last bank holiday (cant believe it was only a couple of weeks ago) we rented a campervan called Dylan from our good friends at Vanilla Splits, who are based locally to us near Arundel in West Sussex.  Their fleet of pristine vans are superbly kitted out with all ‘mod cons’ and we have been married, honeymooned, holidayed and even held business events in a variety of the campers … so in our hearts, they are all extended members of our clan.

As they are vintage vehicles, whilst healthily maintained, we have found it best to take it easy.. and not venture over too many miles.  So one of our favourite jaunts is to the New Forest where some of the campsites like Hurst View allow small campfires and also cook a hog roast on a Saturday night.

Camper + Camp Fire + Marshmallows + Hog Roast = Happy Campers indeed x

4th May is annual STAR WARS day… (May the Fourth Be with you – geddit?) and we love it!  Every year we share our latest star wars celebration and this year it is our R2D2 lego – a 30cm high replica with moving parts!  It was a building labour of love over 4 days between Mr H and our son (mainly Mr H as he wouldn’t let Fin get a look in!) …  It now has pride of place in our family room as the perfect double Geek Chic combo of Lego and Star Wars.

Lego have a STARWARS PROMO this weekend in celebration which is worth a gander… x
