Even though we have changed our name from Granny Knits – that does not diminish my love of old school styles! Granny Square Love by Sarah London is a book that was just waiting to happen… my love of the simple Granny Square is well known – and my cross stitch version has been a real hit…
It is not the most complex book – and there are others which have a larger library of squares. But it is nice to see a book using these squares as finished project ideas.
If you want a library of stitches – 200 Crochet Blocks is rather fabulous.
Get hooking folks!

PIC – My cross stitch granny squares pattern – with one of the giant granny square blankets I crocheted for the kids when they were babies.
Our Granny Knits kits have had a fantastic reception since their launch in January – and I dont think any of us expected the response we have had.
Our trade accounts have waited patiently for their orders, as our yarn supplier was inundated by our order and ran out of Ivory yarn (which has had to be newly twisted and dyed up in Scotland). So when the truck load of yarn appeared – we were both relieved and dreading it at the same time – as we had over 2000 hanks to split and hand twist.
Luckily my extended family were on hand to have a war effort style coffee morning (and afternoon and evening) to split, twist and yak till our hearts content!
We then hand collate the needles, threaders, yarns and charts to make up all of our beautifully wrapped kits. They truly are an effort of love.
So as they have proved so popular with our friends here and over the pond, we have decided to also offer a ‘chart only’ option which launches this week. Which has been asked for but never provided. These can be translated into different yarn counts and yarn types – and we offer a cross fertilising colour chart!
We have a free download especially for Easter with our Egg Cosy.. all you have to do is register online to qualify for all our free stuff!
So why not opt in and give it a go!
